On the 11th of November 2007, Digi held a competition in city square. Each band was to send a group of 30 members for the competition. And so, we met the criteria and went to compete. It was a good experience for all the participating members of our crew. Apart from some situations that occurred, the competition went on smoothly for us. As minutes pass by, the first band performed and then it was our time to shine. =D The 2 songs we shared were “Hujan di Tengah Hari” and “Abba Gold”. As we play, the audiences were enjoying and some were nodding their heads showing signs of enjoyment. On the other hand, Many of us were still nervous or rather scared. Some legs went jelly-like. So what? We still put on a good show at least.
The competition could be said a tough one as there were strong teams competing for champion. But at the end of the day, we’ve managed to pull through & got 3 awards namely; Best Uniformed Band, Best Musical Arrangement and Gold Honors. To put in nicer words, we got 2nd place for the competition and the champion was won by Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) group B. A round of applause to them, but a bigger one to us! Well done 1st JB Band. Many were singing praises to us. And so, 1st JB Band has grown and evolved into a better music producing band. Keep up the good work.
